Our New York City Debut

Updated: Sep 24, 2021

Many of you know that James lost his sister, Ally, to cancer when she was just 31 years old. It was that tragic event that would change his life trajectory forever and he would be enveloped with a no regrets burning desire to do everything in life he always wanted. In September of 2014, James made his dream a reality and performed alongside some of Broadway’s brightest stars at Feinstein’s/54 Below in New York City. When I went to see him accompany Scott Evan Davis on the cello that night, we had only met each other once before. Fresh off a six week trip from South Africa, I finished a series of gigs and landed in Manhattan to sing at a charity benefit. Neither of us planned to be there that same week; it just happened.

At that moment, we never anticipated that we would form both musical and personal bonds, let alone a full time touring musical duo. In just three short years we are making our debut at what I like to refer to as The Carnegie Hall of cabaret where each of us, separate from one another, had dreamt of performing for ages. We only have you to thank for that; our family, our friends and our network of fans who are the soul of our efforts. You are the mouthpieces who encourage your friends to come and see us in places we’d never be able to fill on our own. You have already made our dreams come true on so many levels.

This year, we’ve asked so much of you. We’ve asked for your support as we married each other and you delivered. We asked for your help in funding our debut album and you exceeded our wildest expectations. Now we ask if you would be able to help us once again: If you have any friends in the greater New York City area who are free on Thursday, October 18th, please send them in to see our show at Feinstein’s/54 Below. We are just over the halfway mark for ticket sales, which is wonderful! We believe with your help, we will be able to sell all 157 seats in the venue. A sellout debut in New York would be a huge triumph for us and will open many other doors for us as we get our feet wet in the most saturated performance market in the country. There are already many of you coming from far and wide to see us: Texas, New Mexico, California, Oklahoma, Colorado, Canada, and the TriState region, and we can’t wait to see you all!

The show is on a Thursday night at 9:30 pm. We will be presenting a brand-new show called, “The Broadway Covers Project,” which we are thrilled to perform. It is an exciting show that will feature Elizabeth Young on the piano and music from West Side Story, The Waitress, Sunset Boulevard, Wicked and of course, Phantom of The Opera. We will tell stories of how Broadway music has profoundly affected each of us and play some incredibly special arrangements of our favorite tunes. It’s going to be an exciting night as we’re recording the concert and turning it into a LIVE album! You will ALL be part of our new live album which we’ll be able to continue sharing with people around the world. See you at 9:30 on October 18th at Feinstein’s/54 Below!
